Restoration Season ₊⊹

The holiday season is warm, loving, and full of joy. This is a time where we gather, indulge, and pour our energy into family, friends, and work. We celebrate with laughter, food, and making new memories. This is all beautiful and normal.

When the season begins to soften, your body will ask for a little extra attention and care. This is a sign to honor yourself and begin a gentle reset.

While learning more about honoring the body, I discovered Eni Kadar, a certified Holistic Nutritionist and Doctor of Physical Therapy. Through her program The Balanced Woman, Eni encourages women to reconnect with their health using holistic, feminine, and sustainable practices designed to honor the female body.

𐙚⋆°。⋆♡Here are five sweet rituals she shares for honoring your body after the holidays:

1. Anchor your morning ASAP.

Start your day with a protein-rich breakfast + lemon water before caffeine immediately. This

balances blood sugar and resets cortisol after disrupted sleep schedules and eating things your body isn't used to.

2. Hydrate like it's your job.

For every cocktail, coffee, or travel day - double your electrolytes. Hydrating with minerals helps curb dehydration-driven hunger and supports your hormones. These are my favourite electrolyes.

3. Move daily, in ways that feel good.

No extra treadmill time or bootcamp sessions needed. Don't skip movement because you can't get a 90 minute gym session in. Walk after your meals, squeeze in 20 minute travel-friendly routine or stretch before bedtime to show your body some love. Consistency > perfection every time.

4. Prioritize 7.5 - 9 hours of sleep.

Fatigue and sleep deprivation drives cravings, cortisol, and belly weight gain. Protecting your sleep is equivalent of protecting your hormones, metabolism and gut. Yes, sleep is productive!

5. End the day with no screens.

Blue light exposure (especially at night) has been linked to hormone disruption and decreased sleep quality in research. Turn your screens off 60 minutes before bed and do something that nourishes your body and soul instead. My favorite is some manual lymphatic drainage and a bit of reading.”

At Sweeter Things, we believe wellness can be gentle, simple, and nourishing. These rituals are small ways to show yourself love and live sweeter.
