December invites us to experience moments of mindfulness, coziness, and quiet
comfort, but due to the time change, we experience less natural sunlight.
With less natural sunlight, it becomes difficult to regulate our serotonin (happy hormone) levels so we might experience some symptoms that often referred to as the winter blues. This includes anxiety, depression, trouble sleeping, and more. One thing we can do to help regulate those serotonin levels is red light therapy treatment.
Red light therapy is a treatment that uses a red light device to help combat issues such as acne, wrinkles, inflammation, and those winter blues. Basically, it's everything that a wellness girly would love.
Dr. Eric Koehler explains, "Red light treatment is proving to be a highly promising tool for supporting SAD (seasonal affective disorder) symptoms. It...can boost the production of cellular energy and modulate neurotransmitter levels like serotonin."
Not only is red light helpful to our mental wellness, but it also enhances natural beauty. UCLA Health states, "red light therapy can treat dark spots, discoloration, fine lines, and wrinkles...Near-infared light may stimulate hair follicles to encourage hair growth and reduce hair loss."
Red light therapy is a beautiful addition to wellness habits for women evolving into their best selves, elevating our internal and external harmony.
